Spring 2001: Does Capital Punishment Have a Future?

Participants
Milford High School - Highland, MI
Class: Extra Curricular Activity

Our class is actually an extra curricular activity at Milford High School. We have assembled various different people from our school to take part in this summit. Milford High School is located in Highland, Michigan. The community is quite rural mostly consisting of small businesses and community buildings with a sub-division here and there. Our community is most notable for being the location of General Motors Proving Grounds, which both employs much of the community population and draws more people into the community. Approximately 1,800 students attend Milford High School. Our school is not very diverse at all. With the exception of only a few students, the student body is of white Caucasian ethnic background. Our mascot at Milford High School is the "Redskin" at least it is for now. There has recently been a strong movement in the community to convert to a term that maybe less offensive. We are very proud of all our students and their accomplishments at Milford. Among the notable activities is our nationally ranked robotics team, our nationally ranked marching band and our track and cross country programs that consistently place within the top 10 in the state. The students of Milford High School participating in this forum wait to do so with great anticipation.
