ABA Division for Public Education: NOYS 2001: Participants: Jefferson High School

Spring 2001: Does Capital Punishment Have a Future?

Participants
Jefferson High School - Dayton, OH
Class: American Government

We are Ms. Delph's 2nd and 4th period American Government classes at Jefferson High School in Jefferson Township, Ohio. Jefferson Township is mostly suburban/ rural, but its right next to Dayton, a major city. Jefferson is about 80% black and 20% white.

Our school is very small - only about 185 students in the building. There are only 31 people in American Government. Sometime being small is kind of bad, because we don't have a lot of things big schools get, like many different classes and sports activities. But its nice having small class sizes, where the teachers can get to know you and help you one-on-one.
