Spring 2001: Does Capital Punishment Have a Future?

Hello, we are Coach Hall's Sociology class at Bristow High School in Bristow, Oklahoma. We are a rural community located on Interstate 44 between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Our population is around 4,500 people. The main industry in our town is the Kwikset lock company which is a division of the Black and Decker Company.

Our school has an enrollment of 458 students. Our school population is diverse. Our student population is 68% White, 19% Native American, 12% African American, and 1% Hispanic. Our school is known for our sports teams. We have won three state championships in football. One in boys basketball, two in girls basketball, and fifteen in wrestling. Our school nickname is the Purple Pirates. We hold the copyright to the pirate we use as our logo. One of our recent graduates is a starter at cornerback for the National Champion Oklahoma Sooners.
