Activity Summary:

For more than 2 hours Bobby Delaughter, the Jackson, Mississippi, prosecutor, who successfully prosecuted the murderer of civil rights activist Medgar Evers more than 30 years ago, kept his audience spellbound as he showed slides, video tapes and talked abut his experiences as he tried a case that went on to be the basis of the movie Ghosts of Mississippi.

Activity Narrative:

A talk by Bobby Delaughter was the San Antonio Black Lawyers' Association attempt to expand our community understanding of the Law and the positive role it plays in our lives by presenting this event.

The Medgar Evers murder trial is a classic example of how, even after thirty years, that belief in the law and belief in that system can end in justice for everyone.
