Here are some links to sites that pertain to the topic of Equal Protection in High School sports. Some links are geared towards more general topics, such as civil liberties, including students' rights, etc.


Gender Equity in Sports -- Housed at the University of Iowa's site, this site includes an overview of Title IX and lawsuits pertaining to gender equity in sports.

Women's Sports Foundation -- This site is a one-stop shop for information about everything related to women's sports, from topical issues to applying for grants, scholarships, and funding. Housed on Lifetime's site.

R. M. Smith v. NCAA -- Housed on Findlaw's site. Read more about this case in which a student athlete alleged that the NCAA violated Title IX by discriminating against her on the basis of her sex. Her case was dismissed in a lower court; here is the decision on file from the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.

NCAA v. Smith -- The NCAA petitioned the Court of Appeals' decision and the case was brought before the Supreme Court. Read the Supreme Court's decision, also housed on Findlaw's site.
