California is celebrating Law Day
Central District of California
The United States District Court, Central District of California is hosting a Law Day program for area high school students. The program centers on a mock trial with all student participants and actual counterparts (federal judge, attorneys, court clerk, and court security officers) assisting them. Following the program, the students will hear short presentations from the host judge, attorneys from the federal public defender and U.S. attorney offices, and pretrial, probation and the U.S. marshal officers. Four programs will be presented per day over a four day period. It is anticipated that 1150 students and teachers from 16 different high schools will be attending with 120 members of court staff assisting at the event.
