The Smith County Bar Foundation is Celebrating Law Day.

The Smith County Bar Foundation will host the Smith County, Texas Law Day Celebration on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Tyler Rose Garden Facilities in Tyler, Texas at 12:00 PM CST. It is a public event, and we will be recognizing individuals inside and outside the legal community, including winning student entries in poster and essay contests.

Orange County Bar Association is Celebrating Law Day.

The objective of the law day program, sponsored by the Orange County Bar Association, is to ensure our youth understand their rights and responsibilities under the law in order to become effective participants in our nation's civic life. See attached (PDF) for further information

Community Law School of Cameron County Texas is Celebrating Law Day.

The Cameron County Bar Association and the Cameron County Young Lawyer's Association of Texas will co-sponsor a community-wide learning event for Law Day '08 in conjunction with the Community Law School. The event will feature two legal topics of great relevance to Cameron County residents: Immigration Law and Individual Rights in Criminal Law. Attorneys who specialize in both areas will speak and answer questions, along with police officers and Border Patrol officers. The event aims to educate the populace about important legal issues that affect local life and is based on the premise that an informed citizenry results in more efficient and accountable government and business communities.
