Pennsylvania Bar Association is celebrating Law Day

The Pennsylvania Bar Association serves as a clearinghouse for Law Day activities in Pennsylvania, providing free materials and registration information. Local bar associations may request free Law Day lesson plan guides and other materials to use in classroom visits or during other special events that are held to celebrate Law Day. The PBA Law Day program and materials are designed to enhance and supplement existing local efforts. Visit the PBA Web site, www.pabar.org.

In addition to developing and providing resources for Law Day, Pennsylvania Bar Association volunteers and staff will also participate in classroom visits to local schools and attend local bar events.

On May 1st, PBA President Andy Susko will join First Lady and Third Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Marjorie Rendell in a special plenary session at the National Judges Forum on Children, Families and the Courts in Philadelphia celebrating both the 50th anniversary of Law Day and the partnership between the PBA and Judge Rendell to promote civic education.

The Pennsylvania Bar Association will host a Law Day 50th Anniversary celebration at the state capitol on May 2nd. Local students, teachers, judges, lawyers, legislators and others will attend the event to recognize and celebrate the importance of the Law Day program.

For information on Pennsylvania’s Law Day activities, contact Susan Etter, Education and Special Projects Coordinator, Pennsylvania Bar Association at 1-800-932-0311, Ext. 2256; e-mail: susan.etter@pabar.org.
