Maine Penobscot County Bar Association is celebrating Law Day 2008
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Law Day, the Maine Penobscot County Bar Association is sponsoring an essay contest and art contest on "The Rule of Law: Foundation for Communities of Opportunity and Equity." The PCBA has expanded the contest this year to include both essays and art from high school students either (1) in the 9th - 12th grade in a school located in Penobscot County, Maine, or (2) home schooled in Penobscot County, Maine in the equivalent of a 9th - 12th grade year. High school students are encouraged to submit either an essay of no more than 500 words or an 11" x 17" poster relating to the topic. Entries must be postmarked or delivered by 5:00 p.m. on April 18, 2008. The prizes for the top essays and the art projects are scholarships for $500 for first place in each category and $250 for second place in each category.
