South Dakota is Celebrating Law Day on May 1st 2007.
Central SD Teen Court, serving four counties (a 60 mile radius) in central SD will hold it's annual volunteer awards/recognition reception. We invite all current volunteers, their parents, and community stakeholders to the event. In recognition of Law Day, we hold a reception with hour devours.
At the reception, all volunteers receive a certificate documenting the number of hours they have volunteered in the past year and a Teen Court Volunteer lapel pin. Our eligible senior volunteers are presented with scholarship awards. (Each year someone volunteers and meets the scholarship requirements, they are eligible for a $250.00 cash scholarship upon graduation.) This year we will be giving out 7 awards, ranging from $250.00-$1,000.!! All the volunteers will receive the ABA buttons promoting Law Day, along with the other "stuff" that was sent! Our featured speaker will be an officer from the state Bar Association who volunteers as a judge for our program. Very exciting! and very well attended by the parents and their kids! We always have a great Law Day Celebration; love the theme this year!!
