Law Day 50th

Law Day Events

Oregon

Multnomah Bar Association is celebrating Law Day

The YOUth FILM Project
Keeping with this year's Law Day theme and the goal of reaching out to local youth, we are sponsoring The YOUthFILM Project. This is a student filmmaking contest (high school or younger) that we hope will give students an opportunity to express themselves creatively, while learning more about our government and justice system. Students can enter by producing a short film or video about a "Youth in Democracy" topic. Top films will be screened for the public at the Hollywood Theatre in Northeast Portland on May 1, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at that time by honorary guests, including Oregon Supreme Court Chief Justice, Paul J. De Muniz. Please see the attached registration packet for more information on registration and further contest details or visit www.theyouthfilmproject.org.

Legal Information Centers
Legal information centers will be set up in various locations in Multnomah County April 30-May 5, 2007. Lawyers volunteer to interact with the public at these legal information centers by listening to citizens and informing them about legal services in the community.

Information regarding these events and volunteer opportunities for the same can also be found on the Multnomah Bar Association's website: www.mbabar.org
