The Public Education Division of the ABA celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15—October 15) by featuring four prominent Hispanic-American lawyers and jurists throughout the month. These individuals are being recognized for their exemplary service to the community, their professional record of groundbreaking achievements, and their exemplary service to the legal profession.

Week 1: Irma Rangel—First Mexican-American woman to be elected to the Texas House of Representatives

Week 2: José Cabranes—Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit

Week 3: Bob Menendez—Chairman of the Democratic Caucus, U.S. House of Representatives

Week 4: Jose Padilla—Executive Director of California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.
