Please join us at the 23rd National Law-Related Education Leadership Seminar, January 15-17, 2004, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The seminar will be held at the recently opened National Constitution Center. This exceptional new museum, located on Philadelphia's Independence Mall, is the first museum in the world dedicated to honoring and explaining the U.S. Constitution. Chartered by Congress as an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization, the mission of the National Constitution Center is to engage all Americans in our Constitution, its history, and its relevance to our daily lives.
In keeping with the upcoming 50th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision, Brown v. Board of Education, the theme of the seminar is "Teaching about Issues of Race and the Constitution." The seminar will begin on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with a special taping of NPR's Justice Talking, followed by a multimedia introductory presentation of the National Constitution Center. A keynote address by noted author Peter Irons, and a reception where you will greet old friends and meet new ones, will round out our first day.
