OVERVIEW

Justice Lewis, Judge BillingsLeaders in the field of law-related education from around the United States gathered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on January 23-26, 2002 for the 22nd National Law-Related Education Leadership Conference. The conference provided an opportunity to examine “what works” in law-related education. The main thrust was to determine how exemplary practices can sustain and improve the quality of law-related teaching and learning, not just in today’s elementary, middle and secondary classrooms, but also in juvenile justice or community settings. Participants also discussed the legal implications of responses to the terrorist attacks and how such controversial topics could enrich law-related education.
