The Public Education Division of the ABA is honored to celebrate National American Indian Heritage Month (November) by featuring profiles of prominent American Indian lawyers and jurists. These individuals are being recognized for their exemplary service to the community, their professional record of groundbreaking achievements, and their exemplary service to the legal profession.

Week 1: Charles Curtis—Vice President of the United States, 1929-1933

Week 2: Arlinda Locklear—First American Indian to appear in the Supreme Court

Week 3: W. Richard West—Director of the National Museum of the American Indian
