Finding Experts
Where do you find people with the expertise that will help your students understand these complex issues?
One obvious source is your state and local bar association, which typically offer public education programs throughout the year (including Law Day and Law Week activities). Many also maintain speaker bureaus, organized by specialty, which could help you find the person with just the right knowledge.
Courts, too, often have vigorous outreach programs. They also maintain speakers bureaus, and judges often speak to class groups. Call your local courthouse, as well as any federal district courts in your area, and ask for the public information officer.
Colleges and universities are another great source, as are museums that deal in subjects related to the topics under discussion.
