August 10, 2007 NAWL Annual Meeting and President’s Award Reception at the Rincon Center, San Francisco
NAWL 2007-08 President Holly English welcomed the over 400 guests to the San Francisco reception. Highlighting the event was
the presentation of the 2007 President’s Award to the Occidental Petroleum Corporation. The President’s Award is given annually

November, 2007. NAWL hosts a national Leadership Summit, "From Theory to Action: Advancing Women Leaders in Law
Firms" in Washington, D.C. on November 5, 2007. Under the umbrella of the NAWL 2015 Challenge and following the NAWL
Survey for Retention and Promotion of Women in Law Firms, the Summit invites prominent industry leaders to engage in
interactive small group discussions recommend the actions by law firm management which are most likely to enhance
advancement and leadership roles for women lawyers in private practice. Summit participants include managing partners
and senior partners of law firms, general counsels, and nationally recognized experts on professional careers for
women. The conclusions of the Summit will be published by NAWL.
June 14, 2007 -- The National Organization for Women Honored NAWL President, Cathy Fleming, with the Women
of Power & Influence Award for her achievements as an attorney and a women’s rights activist. The Women of
Power & Influence Awards celebrate women’s power to change the world. Her fellow honorees were Lesley Goldwasser,

October 20-22--ABA Women Rainmakers Mid-Career Workshop An interactive forum developed to give valuable insight and enhance the performance of the mid-career women lawyer. In conjuntion with the LPM Section Fall Meeting to be held October 18-20, 2007 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, the ABA Women Rainmakers Mid-Career Workshop will take place on October 20-22, 2007. This workshop will allow participants to network with other successful attorneys, engage in focused topical discussions with knowledgable legal professionals and learn how to utilize tools to help assess the participant's career, client relationships, and personal lifestyle requirements in order to maximize rainmaking capabilities.
