Holly English is of counsel to Post, Polak, Goodsell, MacNeill & Strauchler, P.A., with a concentration in employment law. She is the author of Gender on Trial: Sexual Stereotypes and Work/Life Balance in the Legal Workplace, published in 2003 by Law Journal Press, a division of American Lawyer Media. Her column on law firm culture and law office politics appears regularly in Legal Times, the New Jersey Law Journal, the New York Law Journal, online at www.nylawyer.com/wisdom, and periodically in other legal publications around the country. Her articles have appeared in Perspectives (an ABA publication), Of Counsel, the New York Law Journal Magazine, B.C. Law, and Executive Excellence.
As a consultant, Ms. English worked in the U.S. and internationally with a wide variety of organizations, helping to align core values for maximum performance. She presents frequently for law firms (such as Dorsey & Whitney, Jackson Lewis and Sullivan & Cromwell) and has presented for bar associations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, Westchester, New Hampshire and Chicago as well as at the Midwest Women's Law Conference. Topics have included a survey of today's subtle gender issues and the subtle solutions necessary to solve them; getting comfortable with exercising authority; work/life balance; and other presentations related to gender issues and management.
