Bill Lann Lee, the former Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, has joined Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP. He will be working out of both the San Francisco and Washington, D.C. offices and will be chairing the firm's Human Rights practice and co-chairing the firm's Employment practice.
Teveia Barnes is the new Executive Director of the Bar Association of San Francisco.
Peggy Davis, a partner at Winston & Strawn in Chicago, was named the Chief of Staff to Chicago Public Schools Chief Executive Officer Arne Duncan.
Wanda E. Flowers, on of the co-chairs of the Commission's Minority In-House Counsel Group, was elected president of the Philadelphia chapter of the National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division.
Kanwar Singh, former General Counsel of Brightsage, Inc. has joined the Chicago office of Baker & McKenzie as a partner. He will focus upon a corporate and securities practice with a concentration on cross border transactions.
Former Deputy Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr. has become a partner at Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., where he will handle complex civil and criminal litigation, domestic and international advisory matters, and internal corporate investigations. Eric also delivered this year's Cardozo lecture, entitled, "The Importance of Diversity in the Legal Profession.
Oran F. Whiting has joined Freeborn & Peters in Chicago as a partner.
Angela E. Oh will be the featured luncheon speaker at the Public Interest Law Institute's annual luncheon on December 6th.
Congratulations to Nicholas Johnson. He has been promoted to full professor at Fordham Law School.
Leecia Eve is now serving as counsel to Senator Hillary Clinton. She is the highest ranking member of the Senator's staff.
Jose A. Lopez, formerly a senior attorney with the SEC has joined Chicago's Schopf & Weiss.
Congratulations to Deborah Telman on her election to partnership in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn.
Congratulations to Pamela Grinter, Rick L. Lambert, Jeff Paskert, Jennifer Mallory Rawl, and Laura L. Takasumi on their selection as fellows of the ABA Section of Business Law.
Congratulations to Ruthe Ashley on her election as President of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Ruthe is also leaving her firm, Ashley & Reeves, to join McGeorge School of Law.
