In addition, when you are a lawyer of color, there is added pressure to be a visible and active part of your community as well. It is understandable, therefore that lawyers of color must exercise some selectivity in the activities they choose to pursue or support. In choosing among the myriad of professional activities and organizations competing for your limited time and resources, we want to remind you about the many advantages and opportunities that membership in the American Bar Association offers.

Sections and Divisions are semi-independent groups whose members represent a substantive area of the law such as:
Joining Sections allows you to participate in Forums such as Affordable Housing & Community Development Law.
Many sections also have initiatives of particular interest to minorites.
