Section of Antitrust Law facilitates opportunity for law students to work in state and territorial Attorney General offices
The Janet D. Steiger Fellowship Project, now entering its third year, provides law students with the opportunity to work in the consumer protection and antitrust departments of state and territorial Attorney General offices throughout the United States.
The eight-week paid fellowships, sponsored by the Section of Antitrust Law in conjunction with the National Association of Attorneys General, are a consumer protection outreach initiative aimed at introducing law students to the rewards of legal careers in public service. During the program, law students are given the chance to contribute substantially to the consumer protection mission of their office.
Named after a former Federal Trade Commission Chairman who, during her tenure, improved cooperation, communication and coordination among state and federal consumer protection and antitrust enforcement agencies, the fellowship project will place fellows in 21 states during the summer of 2007.
YourABA readers are encouraged to alert law students they know to this opportunity. Applications, available online, are due by January 19, 2007.
