Committee on Continuing Legal Education establishes fund to help ABA providers reach underserved lawyers

The ABA Standing Committee on Continuing Legal Education has established an Underserved Lawyers Fund to encourage greater efforts by CLE program planners to reach public interest lawyers, government lawyers, solo practitioners, minority lawyers and others for whom continuing education is sometimes not readily accessible or available.

Money from the fund is being awarded for production costs for CLE programming in virtually all formats; assistance in obtaining MCLE credit for eligible programs; and scholarships for eligible programs in coordination with special efforts to attract an underserved audience. It’s contemplated that some of the programming being considered to assist those displaced by Hurricane Katrina may be eligible.
