2006 Midyear Meeting to be relocated
With great regret, ABA President Michael S. Greco announced on September 16 that the 2006 ABA Midyear Meeting will be moved from New Orleans to Chicago.
In making the announcement, Greco noted that the decision was made difficult because of the association’s strong desire to help the New Orleans economy, and that the ABA had made every effort to remain there for the meeting, staying in constant communication with the New Orleans hospitality committee. But the New Orleans Convention Bureau has now cancelled all city-wide meetings through March 31, 2006.
“We have assured the City, and assure you, that the ABA will return to New Orleans for a future Midyear Meeting at the earliest possible opportunity,” Greco said. He also noted that the ABA will make a contribution to an appropriate fund for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The meeting will take place February 8 — 13, one week later than originally scheduled.
