DREAMWORKS CEO STACEY SNIDER IS KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT
AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION MEETING
Industry Legal Titans to Gather at ABA Forum on
the Entertainment and Sports Industries Annual Meeting
CHICAGO, Sept. 20, 2006 – In the ever increasing world of new media – ringtones, webcasting, audio remixes, video games – how is the entertainment industry licensing and protecting the use of music and master recordings? What are the innovative and cutting edge deal structures that have responded to the changing film and television marketplace? How is the sports industry handling doping issues and what is the role of the World Anti-Doping Agency? What trends in case law will impact the future of the entertainment industry?
These and many other questions about entertainment and sports law and practice will be examined at the American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries 2006 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, Oct. 12 - 14. Sessions will be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel and Spa. The meeting will feature top players from all facets of the entertainment and sports industries who will participate in 19 panels covering a wide variety of topical issues in music, film, television, sports, interactive media and new technologies, litigation, merchandising and licensing, theater and performing arts, visual arts and ethics.
Among the event’s high profile speakers will be Stacey
Snider, Co-Chairman and CEO of DreamWorks SKG, who will be
the keynote speaker at the Forum’s annual Ed Rubin Award luncheon
on Oct. 13.
During her career in the entertainment industry, Snider has overseen
the production of some of the biggest hits in film, including “A
Beautiful Mind” and “Bruce Almighty.” At DreamWorks,
she heads one of the top studios in the U.S.; it develops and produces
films, video games and television programming.
“The Annual Meeting of the Forum brings together the best legal
and business minds in the entertainment and sports industries,”
said Forum Chair Gary A. Watson of Los Angeles. “Sessions
offer the best in analysis and study of business and law in these exciting
and growing arenas that are increasingly of interest to a wide public
that is hungry for news.”
