Critical National and International Legal Issues to be Explored at ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco

U.S. Supreme Court Justices Breyer and Kennedy to Be Honored

The future of immigration laws in the current Congress, the relationship between land use and climate change, and an insider’s view of critical issues in homeland security are among hot topics featured at the 2007 American Bar Association Annual Meeting, Aug. 9 - 14, in San Francisco.

With more than 1,500 top quality legal programs and events, and presentations by the foremost law experts and speakers, including U.S. Supreme Court Justices Stephen G. Breyer and Anthony M. Kennedy, the ABA Annual Meeting is the nation’s premier gathering of legal professionals.

On Aug. 11 Justice Breyer will be honored at a noon luncheon by the ABA Rule of Law Initiative for his extraordinary commitment to the promotion of the rule of law in the developing world. That evening he will be keynote speaker at the Annual Meeting Opening Assembly held at Davies Symphony Hall.

Justice Kennedy will receive the ABA Medal, its highest honor, during the meeting of the meeting of the policy-making 546-member ABA House of Delegates, Aug. 13 and 14 at the Moscone West Convention Center.
