When your association receives a call from a civic group or club
requesting a speaker, do you have something ready to present?
If so, that's great. If not, consider sharing a video on fair and
impartial courts produced by the ABA Standing Committee on Judicial
Independence. The video, "Protecting our Rights, Protecting
our Courts," features former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day
O'Connor as one of the presenters.
In discussing the role of judges and the courts as one of the three
equal branches of government in the United States, the video offers
information on how to evaluate judges.
If you are interested in detailed training on presenting the video
and its supporting materials, please contact Konstantina Vagenas,
Judicial Independence Initiative manager at 312-988-5105 or vagenask@staff.abanet.org.
The following is a sample news release suitable for announcing the
presentation in local media or newsletters for the organization.
