ABA Seeks Entries for Health Law Writing Award

The ABA Health Law Section is sponsoring its second-annual writing contest open to all students at ABA-approved law schools. Last year's winner was Hilary Schock of Temple University School of Law for her paper "From Bedside to Borders: The Impact of European Union Data Protection Laws on Multinational Organizations Conducting Online Clinical Trials." The article was published in The Health Lawyer, Vol. 15, No. 3.

The first-place award includes publication in The Health Lawyer journal, a $500 honorarium, and airfare, hotel for two nights, and two days' expenses to attend the section's Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law Conference in February 2004 at the Hilton Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif. If a second-place winner is chosen, that paper also will be published in The Health Lawyer. No cash or travel award will be presented to the second-place winner.

The paper submission deadline is Nov. 19. For details on subject matter and other submission requirements, visit www.abanet.org/health/lawstudents.
