Environmental Justice Essay Competition

Students interested in environmental justice and Native American issues are invited to submit entries for the ABA Environmental Justice Essay Competition, sponsored by the Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities and the Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.

First prize is $1,000 and publication in the Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review. Second and third prizes are $500 and online publication through the ABA.

This year's topic is "Environmental Justice and Tribal Cultural-Spiritual Properties: Protection of Sacred Sites on Federal Lands after Bear Lodge Multiple Use Association v. Babbitt."

Potential entrants must register for the competition by March 25. Submissions must be postmarked or e-mailed by May 5.
