ABA Dispute Resolution Essay Contest Seeks Entries

The ABA Section of Dispute Resolution and the Association for Conflict Resolution are pleased to announce the results of the 2003 Boskey Dispute Resolution Essay Competition.

The winner in the law student category is Henry Abromson of Marquette University Law School for his essay, "The Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy: Will Alternative Dispute Resolution Succeed Where the Courts Have Not: A Proposed Solution to an Imperfect System."

An honorable mention in the law student category was awarded to Cynthia Miller Jones of the University of California-Hastings College of the Law for "NAFTA Chapter 11 Arbitration and the Minimum Standard of Treatment Under NAFTA Chapter 11 Arbitration Article 1105: What Does International Law Guarantee to Investors?"

The winning essays are available at the web sites for the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution (www.abanet.org/dispute) and the Association for Conflict Resolution (http://acrnet.org). Rules and instructions for the 2004 competition also are posted on both web sites. First prize is $1,000 plus travel to an ABA or ACR meeting.
The deadline for entries is June 1.
