Law Day Offers Great Opportunities for Students

Since 1958, Law Day (May 1) has given law students, lawyers, and judges an unmatched opportunity for expanding the public’s awareness of our laws and the justice system, and their valuable impact on our lives.

More than just a single day to reflect on our legal heritage, it is a call to action that often encompasses weeks of springtime programs and activities. It provides the profession with a platform from which it can combat misperceptions and improve the image of law and lawyers.

In communities all across the country, law students are serving as judges and coaches for mock trial competitions, discussing legal careers as part of schools’ career days, and going into the classroom to meet with students and convey the enduring importance of law and the legal system. •
