Congressional Advocacy Efforts

On the federal level, legislation to approve a federal LRAP program for Prosecutors and Public Defenders was passed by the United States Senate this past year,accompanying legislation was not approved in the House of Representatives at this point. On the state level as of this point few states have passed LRAPlegislation and among those most of them are completely unfunded at this point. Please share with us your personal story of how your law school debt is currently impacting your life and how it affects your future career choices. Are you interested in working in public interest or the public sector? And if so, do your loans affect the possibility of you working in these industries? Your story will aid in our efforts to advocate on behalf of both federal and state LRAP's in order to enable law graduates to enter into public service careers.
