A Message from the Governors

Law students and attorneys lucky enough to be nestled anywhere between the Rockies and the Pacific are cordially invited to join the ABA Law Student Division for the 2009 Fall Leadership Summit, October 9-11, in Berkeley, California.

The theme of this year's conference is Transactions, Trials and Trends. Attendees will learn valuable insight from some of San Francisco's best attorneys, activists, and judges. Law student leaders will also have the opportunity to attend meetings on ABA initiatives, learn how to implement programs, how to maximize your law school's access to the ABA grant funds, and be challenged to think critically about your legal education.

If you have any questions about the Fall Leadership Summit, please feel free to contact us.

Making Airline Reservations
As a member benefit, you can fly to ABA meetings with unbeatable savings on airfares when you purchase your tickets through Orbitz Business. For information on the ABA Discounted Meeting Airfares Program, visit the ABA website. For additional savings, be sure to select the "ABA Calendar Meeting" option.

If you intend to arrive in the San Francisco Bay Area by air, consider flying into Oakland rather than San Francisco. The Oakland International Airport (OAK) is smaller and easier to manage than San Francisco International (SFO)—and it is closer to Berkeley. Both airports have information desks and extensive websites:

Ground Transportation and Driving Instructions
Visit the UC Berkeley School of Law visitors website for driving instructions, parking information and maps. You an park in the Underhill parking structure at 2650 Haste Street. The garage charges an hourly parking fee. The law school is also offering a $30 per person valet service for their alumni weekend. You are welcome to use this service at your own expense. For directions, use the Boalt Hall address, 2778 Bancroft Way. In addition, since there is no football game scheduled for this weekend, street parking in front of the law school may be a little bit easier to find but not guaranteed.
