Job Description
National Office of Vice-Chair
- Maintains and develops Division membership programs, plans, and activities.
- Serves as Division liaison to the ABA Standing Committee on Membership (SCOM).
- Attends SCOM meetings and submits reports (4 meetings/reports annually).
- Works with Standing Committee on Membership and Division Director on the development of membership benefit programs for law students.
- Promotes the Division's programs, activities and national competitions through regular communications with the school representatives, SBA Presidents, liaisons, and national student directors.
- Develops membership initiatives and activities for ABA Representatives' membership campaigns. Encourages, motivates and supports ABA Representatives in their ABA activities.
- Keeps fully apprised of each circuit governor's activities in the area of membership and programs.
- Prepares and submits reports on Division membership recruitment, retention and initiatives (8-10 reports annually).
- Responsible for securing and updating the contact info for the ABA Representatives in each of the ABA-approved law schools.
- Updates ABA Representatives Handbook; plans and coordinates ABA Representatives workshop held at the ABA Annual Meeting.
- Chairs the Division's Membership Committee.
- Serves on the Division's Executive Board. Participates on bi-weekly conference calls.
- Travels and attends meetings on behalf of the Division (8-10 times annually). Most travel-related expenses are reimbursed by the Division subject to Division guidelines.
- Time commitment: 10-15 hours weekly.
