ABA Career Fair and Resume Review

The ABA Law Student Division is pleased to present the 2nd Annual Career Fair during the ABA Annual Meeting in New York City. This event provides an opportunity for law students to meet with hiring representatives from some of the country's most prominent law firms, government legal departments, and public interest organizations to discuss their future careers and prospects for summer and associate positions. Legal employers will have the opportunity to meet with a diverse group of law student leaders and recent graduates from the 197 ABA-approved law schools in a single day without having to travel great distances.

About the Career Fair
The ABA Career Fair kicks-off the Law Student Division’s portion of the ABA Annual Meeting. The Career Fair is structured as a table-talk and resume review event, providing employers the opportunity to speak one-on-one with over 600 law student leaders from across the county, finding the ideal candidates for their summer and associate positions. As attendees of the Career Fair, law students can access seasoned attorneys for valuable career advice and information.
The ABA Career Fair provides an excellent forum for legal employers, law students and law school graduates to meet and discuss employment options. Legal employers attending the Career Fair and seeking to hire law students for summer and associate positions will find a pool of candidates from diverse academic backgrounds.

2007 Inaugural Career Fair
During the 2007 Inaugural Career Fair in San Francisco:

Approximately 260 law students attended the Career Fair. Of them, 76 took advantage of the opportunity to have their resume critiqued. Law students told us after the Career Fair that they valued the variety of employer opportunities provided during the event.

Seventeen law firms or agencies participated in the Career Fair, including seven private practice law firms, four government entities, three military entities and two public interest or non-profit entities. The employers told us they enjoyed the face-to-face interaction with the high volume of diverse law students, who were all within their target salary ranges.
