A Message from Your Circuit Governor

Dear 9th Circuit Law Student,

I’d like to take this time to especially welcome all incoming 1L’s in the 9th Circuit! Congratulations on your success thus far; getting into law school is certainly not a small task. With that said the next few years will certainly be challenging, yet rewarding.  The ABA-LSD is here to help you meet other like-minded law students, to help you network with legal professionals both established and up and coming, and to assist you in brainstorming, and developing ways to help improve the quality of legal education for all law students.

I would strongly encourage you to attend the ABA-LSD Fall Leadership Summit from October 9-11 at UC Berkeley, in Berkeley, CA. Attendance is free for all students. Come join students from the 9th, 11th, 14th and 15th Circuits, as well as professionals in the Bay Area, and learn about Wine Law, Trial Practice, Legal Writing, and Transactional Work, meet with law student leaders from the 4 Circuits, and help your Lt. Governor’s brainstorm ideas as to how to improve the quality of life and the experience of all law students in the 9th Circuit. Do you have any idea as to how we can improve the 9th Circuit? Come meet us at the Fall Leadership Summit, and share them with your peers!

If you are interested in attending the meeting, book now! Airfare is currently about $69 each way through Southwest Airlines, from Los Angeles, Orange County, Burbank, or Ontario airports, to Oakland, which is a short BART ride away from Berkeley. We have also reserved a group rate for hotel accommodations, so sign up now!

As always, please contact me any time, if you have any questions about the Fall Meeting, any ABA-LSD programming that is set to take place this semester and next, and in general, any comments or concerns you may have, or simply to say “hi.”

I hope to see you at the Fall Summit in Berkeley!

Best,

Ruby Banipal
