A Message From Your 8th Circuit Governor

I am pleased to join the other 14 Governors on the board to represent the 8th circuit of the American Bar Association law student division. I will work hard to ensure participation, understanding of the organization, and valuable programming. Along with hard work comes balancing playtime. The conferences I will plan are guaranteed to provide a good time and I encourage all ABA/SBA leaders to attend the annual meeting in New York, the Fall regional roundtable, and the Spring circuit meetings. Please contact me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.

This year we are focusing on the mental health of law students, an issue that is rarely talked about but affects us all. While law school should be engaging, challenging, and demanding, it need not be exhausting or a cause for afflictions. Check out the Mental Health webpage to see what you can do at your lawschool to shed some light on healthy minds.

The first thing on my to do list is implementing a board of Lieutenant Governors to aid in the organization of the 8th circuit. These positions are integral to the function of the ABA lsd and are a big help to me. If you are a leader on your campus, or would like to be, please fill out an application and let your talents be utilized to help law students nationwide. Perks of the Lt. Governor positions include working with me, leadership experience, resume experience, and introduction to many of the hundreds of programs the ABA puts on to aid lawyers and future lawyers.

If you are an SBA president or ABA representative, make sure to report your election results. I hope you are enjoying your law school experience, and let me know if there is anything I can do to make it better. Check back soon for Lt. Governor applications, calendar of events, and a full listing of SBA Presidents and ABA Representatives at all 15 law schools in the 8th Circuit.
