Message From Your First Circuit Governor

Welcome!  My name is Debbie Rosenbaum, and I am excited and honored to be the First Circuit governor.  I am currently pursuing a dual J.D./M.B.A. degree at Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School.  Prior to graduate school, I worked in Washington, DC as a communications consultant and served as National Director of Communications and Public Relations for The Appleseed Foundation (www.appleseednetwork.org), a non-profit network of impact litigation public interest centers in the U.S. and Mexico.

As tomorrow’s leaders, we are developing our own identities and personal connections to the legal framework in the United States.  Moving forward, the student division of the ABA is positioned to make a direct impact on a national level.  But as I learned through the wisdom of Appleseed’s impact litigation model: systemic change begins at the local level.

I cannot do it alone.  We are looking for students to help us in our mission of making the next year meaningful and successful for law students in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  It is a great way to get involved with one of the nation’s top volunteer professional organizations.  For information, please consider applying for a Lieutenant Governor position.

Do not hesitate to share your thoughts or concerns about your school, the circuit, or Jack Bauer’s absence in 2008.  I am happy to lend an ear and to help brainstorm action plans with you.

Warm wishes,

Debbie
