Clients appreciate a no-charge phone call from their lawyer who just wants to check in and say "Hi. How are you doing?" They may be shocked at first. If you get your clients talking about what's new in their lives, you may uncover a need for legal services fo which the client was unaware. Don't think of this as a sales call, though, so much as a social one: No hard sell! Keep checking in through months of no activity. When that client does need legal services, you'll be there to help.
