ABA Law Practice Management Section Annual Meeting

Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs*

Continuing Legal Education (CLE)

During the ABA Annual Meeting, LPM is featuring five CLE programs. All LPM CLE programs will be held in Conference Room D of the Sheraton Towers Executive Conference Center, with the exception of the Presidential CLE Showcase Program.

Attendees can register for the meeting and purchase an All-Access CLE Badge for a fee of $595. This badge can be used for admittance to governance meetings, non-CLE programs and all CLE programs at the Annual Meeting, including those in the Presidential CLE Centre and at the satellite hotels.

A limited-access ticket is available for $320 for ABA members. Discounted program tickets will be available to government lawyers and judges for $35. Law Student registrants will be admitted to all CLE programs at no additional charge.

 

Best of ABA TECHSHOW: Law Practice Management & Technology Tips

Presidential CLE Showcase Program: Outsourcing Legal Services Abroad

Outsourcing of legal services by U.S. and U.K. law firms and corporations has continued to increase over the past five years. The outsourcing industry in developing countries, particularly India, has matured and developed during that time. Law firms now outsource document review in litigation, contract drafting and review, e-discovery support, and other high level work. Some firms have even opened their own support offices in India.  This program will explore outsourcing trends, analyze what drives firms to send work abroad, and discuss managing change at home and dealing with other cultures, from the perspective of law firms and the companies that provide the services in India and elsewhere.

Working Together, Wherever You Are: The Lawyer's Guide to Collaboration Tools

This  session is equally useful for both "techies" and "non-techies."
