What type of articles are we looking for?
Articles about issues that face every type of lawyer in today's practice arena. Solos, corporate counsel, managing partners, starting associates, or even paralegals. We want stories from the legal trenches. The topics that are burning a hole through your desk. Do you have a success story about a new technology your firm just implemented? What about one that failed? Do you have a successful solution to solo billing matters? What is the newest issues facing all types of lawyers from Capitol Hill? We are looking for articles that will educate readers about issues that they can use today, tomorrow, or even next week. We are looking for big picture articles as well as specific topics. Checklists and how-to articles are great content for Law Practice Today.
We are always looking for new contributors to Law Practice Today. Articles may come in the form of one-time contributions or possibly an opportunity for a regular column on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. We prefer writers who are passionate about their practice area. Writers who want to educate others so they don't have to re-create the wheel or fall down the same path you did.

About Law Practice Today
Law Practice Today is a Webzine, a Web-based magazine written by lawyers, for lawyers. We focus on issues that face the practice of law today. Each month we publish articles to our Webzine focusing on legal marketing, management, technology, and finance issues. Each month we highlight an article from each area through our e-newsletter to over 16,000 ABA Law Practice Management Section members, 11,000 opt-in e-mail subscribers and 3200 RSS feed subscribers.
Submission Guidelines
- Article length can vary from 100-15,000 words. You want to think short, but the topic is what is most important.
- Please send submissions in Word or text format. Please, no pdf files. If you would like a link in the text, place the link URL in parentheses after the designated word link. Ex. Law Practice Today (www.lawpracticetoday.org)
- We do not pay for contributions to Law Practice Today.
- The American Bar Association requires all articles published in a periodical, printed or online, have one of their agreements signed before any work can be published. Please fax the appropriate form to our Chicago office at (312) 988-5820 attn: Larry Smith.
