The ABA Law Practice Management Section (LPM), Legal Electronic Discovery Institute (LEDI), and the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) Join Forces to Assist Louisiana Attorneys

On May 22-23, 2006, in New Orleans, LA, the Legal Electronic Discovery Institute (LEDI), the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) and the American Bar Association Law Practice Management Section (ABA LPM), joined forces to assist Louisiana attorneys and law firms in rebuilding their practices in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Central to the rebuilding efforts was a free two-day legal technology super session titled, “New Orleans, New Law: Community Revival with Technology” held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on Canal Street.

This session jump started the areas’ legal revitalization and taught attorneys about the technology tools and resources they can access and utilize to get them back on their feet. A newly established, centrally-based technology resource center will help attorneys to maintain their practices, have a place to meet clients, and have access to resources not available at their homes and temporary office spaces.
