What is a podcast and how does it work?


A Podcast is a short audio or video program available as a subscription, typically for free. The Litigation Podcast is available in audio format only. You may subscribe to it through iTunes or a number of other online services. If you are not using iTunes and an iPod, you may also download the audio file and listen to it on any MP3 player or your computer.


Using iTunes

  1. Be sure that iTunes is installed on your computer. It can be downloaded from Apple's website.
  2. Follow our subscription link and you will be guided directly to our podcast page inside the iTunes Music Store.
  3. Click on the "Subscribe" button to have new episodes automatically downloaded to iTunes when they become available.
  4. Or, you may download individual episodes by clicking on the "Get Episode" button next to the episode titles.

Netvibes

  1. If you have a Netvibes account, you may follow our Netvibes subscription link to add our podcast to your Netvibes page.
  2. After clicking the subscription link, you will be asked to confirm that you want to add our podcast to your page. Select "Okay" to add our podcast.
  3. If you do not have a Netvibes account, you may set one up by providing a email address and password of your choice at the Netvibes site.

Download to your computer or MP3 player

  1. Go to our podcast page.
  2. When you've located the episodes you wish to download, right click on an episode title and save the MP3 file to your computer.
  3. You may then listen to your downloaded episodes using iTunes, Windows Media Player, or other audio software on your computer. You may also transfer it to your portable MP3 device.


What exactly is RSS and how do news feeds work?


While RSS sounds like an unfamiliar acronym, it is a useful tool in helping you gain quick access to the news that's most important to you. With RSS news feeds, you can identify the content that's most relevant to you and have it delivered to your desktop. Many major content providers, such as the New York Times, CNN and BBC provide news feeds.


There are two ways that you can browse news feeds: download a news reader program, or use an online service. We've included some suggestions for each option:
