Message from the Chairs
Thank you for visiting the website of the Business Torts Litigation Committee. As you navigate our website, it will become apparent that any lawyer practicing commercial or corporate law will find the information, news updates and seminar programs are valuable assets to a successful legal practice. The Business Torts Litigation Committee is one of this Litigation Section’s fastest growing committees. The Business Torts Committee furnishes numerous opportunities to its members with respect to networking and publishing opportunities.
The Business Torts Litigation Committee has been very fortunate to have had excellent committee and sub-committee chairs. The activity in our committee is fostered by an annual rotation of chair-persons and an infusion of new people. The rotation of assignments creates opportunities for growth within the committee and the American Bar Association. The chairs also wish to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to our former co-chair, David A. Soley, who did a magnificent job for many years and raised the bar of excellence previously established with respect to the work of the Business Torts Committee.
The Business Torts Litigation Committee sponsors substantive breakfast meetings at the ABA’s annual meetings and the Section of Litigation meetings. The Business Torts Committee also regularly partners with the Committee on Corporate Counsel on meetings; and it routinely partners with other ABA Committees on programs and seminars that are educationally beneficial.
The Business Torts Litigation Committee is always looking for new program ideas and topics in business/corporate/commercial litigation. These ideas may be presented as an informative Teleconference CLE program or as a showcase CLE program at an ABA or Section Litigation meeting. Therefore, if you have any ideas in this regard, please contact our program chairperson, Bart Greenwald.
Last, the Business Torts Committee is extremely proud of its Business Torts Journal. This publication appeals to the intellectual curiosity, interest and the practical needs of a trial lawyer.
Therefore, please investigate the Business Torts Litigation Committee in order to completely appreciate the wide range of opportunities that are available. Upon investigation, we trust that you shall take the opportunity to join and become involved.
