International Liaison Office

The American Bar Association is a dues-paying institutional member of six international legal organizations -- the International Bar Association (IBA) headquartered in London, the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA) headquartered in Paris, the Inter-American Bar Association (IABA) headquartered in Washington, DC., the International Criminal Bar (BPI-ICB) headquartered in Montreal, and the International Legal Assistance Consortium headquartered in Stockholm. In addition, the ABA Young Lawyers Division is an institutional member of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA) headquartered in Brussels.

Representatives of the ABA serve on the councils or in the assemblies of these international legal groups.
