International Liaison Office

The International Liaison Office (ILO) supports the ABA's liaison efforts with legal organizations around the world. The Office is an information clearinghouse on the international programs and activities of the Association as well as other law-related groups. Housed in the ABA headquarters office in Chicago, the Office provides visitor programming for foreign and international lawyers and judges and coordinates the President's Program for Distinguished International Guests at the Association's Annual Meeting.

  • Visitors Program

The ABA International Liaison Office's (ILO) Professional Program for International Visitors is a special part of our overall international involvement. That involvement was strengthened in 1983 when the House of Delegates adopted Goal VIII, "to advance the rule of law in the world". Underlying all the Association's international programs is our commitment to work with lawyers and judges throughout the world in the pursuit of peace and justice.
