Regulatory Scheme: The North Dakota ethics rules (7.4) permit lawyers to communicate information regarding certification, without a disclaimer, where the certification has been awarded by an organization whose program is accredited by the ABA or sponsored by a state bar association. Lawyers certified by non-accredited organizations must disclose this fact and further state that there is no procedure in North Dakota for approving, certifying organizations.
