Regulatory Scheme: Michigan Rule of Professional Conduct 7.4 does not mention lawyer specialization or board certification. The rule states that a "lawyer may communicate the fact that the lawyer does or does not practice in particular fields of law" [Rule 7.4]. New Rules have been proposed that will recognize ABA accredited organizations.
