Law School LRAP Information

General Information

In 2006, 100 law schools offered LRAPs to their graduates, compared to 47 schools in 2000. The scope of these programs range from programs offering extensive assistance to a large number of graduates to smaller programs offering moderate assistance to a small number of graduates. In 2004-2005, the median LRAP award was $3,500.

An organization called "Equal Justice Works" provides current, extensive information on law school LRAPs in Financing the Future: Responses to the Rising Debt of Law Students. This report assembles the most recent data on student debt loads the capacity for repayment by those contemplating a public service career.

This tri-fold brochure is designed to promote law school LRAPs. Law school deans and/or law school administrators, such as directors of development and alumni relations offices, may use this brochure to educate potential donors about the importance of LRAPs.
