The Utah Access to Justice Foundation was created in 1998 out of the former Access to Justice Implementation Committee. The new foundation will pursue the implementation of a technology solution as one of its first priorities. Its director reports to the executive director of the bar. One of the Foundation's projects is the Pro Bono Project which is housed in and funded by the Utah State Bar. The project focuses on recruitment and assignment of cases, relying on legal service agencies for client intake and screening. The project facilitates trainings as well as supporting volunteer attorneys.
