The Law Works for People is a statewide voluntary pro bono program developed by the Connecticut Bar Association and the state's legal aid agencies to improve access to the legal system for people in need. The Law Works for People links organizations assigning pro bono cases with attorneys interested in providing pro bono services. The primary activity of Law Works for People is recruiting pro bono attorneys statewide to work with Connecticut Legal Services and six other pro bono programs. Law Works for People also sponsors substantive legal training programs, provides technical assistance to pro bono programs, arranges for mentoring relationships and co-counseling on difficult cases, sponsors recognition awards and publishes a newsletter.
